Follow Up on “Interpreting Some Political Rhetoric”

Just read an article that seems to confirm a decent amount of what I wrote in my last post about Obama’s leadership style and its relationship to the hostility of the political environment at present.  The president gives a different explanation than I did (he points to commitment to family whereas I pointed to a natural introversion).  He also suggests that most of the hostility has to do with a political decision by Republican leadership, and I certainly believe that there has been a concerted effort by Republican leadership to politically isolate the president.  In reality, no single thing is to blame, there are a lot of factors at play.  But at least in part, it seems to be the case that his leadership style is different from that of previous presidents and that this personality change has contributed to the current political environment.
